Two Missouri banks and on in Kansas failed leaving
an unofficial list of problem banks at 875. The total
assets at risk amounts to approximately $400 billion.
Premier Bank of Jefferson City and WestBridge
Bank and Trust Company of Chesterfield were the
two Missouri banks seized. Along with Security
Savings Bank, F.S.B. of Olathe, Kansas, the
total assets taken amounted to $1.7 billion
with losses of about $500 million or around
33%.
