UGA star wide receiver AJ Green will miss four games for a
violation of NCAA agent benefit rules. A release said Green sold
his game jersey from last year`s Independence Bowl to someone
the NCAA said was an agent. The NCAA says anyone who markets or
promotes themselves as an agent is considered an agent. Green
has repaid the $1,000 value of the benefits they said he received
to charity.
`I want to apologize to my coaches, teammates, and the Georgia
fans for the mistake in judgment. I very much regret all that
has taken place and the distraction that`s been caused. I`ve
learned a valuable lesson and hope others can learn from my
mistake. I can only focus my attention now on practicing and
looking ahead to getting back with my teammates as quickly as
possible,` Greene said in an apology statement released in
conjunction with the NCAA release.
