The following two headlines are reporting the same fact,
the Census Bureau reported that New Home Sales in June were
at a seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of 330 thousand.
The headlines are:
The first headline is true - that was an increase from the
also record low of 267 thousand in May (revised downward
from 300 thousand).
The actual number of sales was 30,000. The previous
all-time low was almost 30 years ago, 34 thousand in 1982.
The record high was 115 thousand in June 2005.
The first story features that `New home sales rose nearly
24 percent in June.` It does say, `May`s number was revised
downward to a rate of 267,000, the slowest pace on records
dating back to 1963.`
