Both Georgia Tech and Georgia kept their NCAA playoff hopes
alive with victories Thursday night. Georgia Tech defeated
North Carolina 62-58 while Georgia defeated Arkansas 77-64.
The victory gives Tech three wins over North Carolina
this year. For most of the past decade, that would
guarantee an NCAA tournament bid, but not this year.
The Jackets go up against No. 19 Maryland Friday night a 7:00
PM. A win for the Jackets would give them a shot at
an NCAA tournament bid.
Trey Thompkins and Travis Leslie both had over 20 points
as the Dawgs kept their slim hopes of an NCAA tournament
bid alive. Anything less than winning the SEC tournament
will likely leave the Dawgs on the outside looking in.
