New Furlough Days Could be Ahead for State Workers

Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue said that state employees will be facing
more furlough days this year. Perdue proposed a state budget that
will cut $1.2 billion dollars more for the fiscal year that ends
in June. Perdue said that employees could see three more unpaid
furlough days between now and June.
State tax revenues hvae declined for 13 consecutive months.
The plan calls for the state`s budget to go to $17.4 billion, down
from $18.6 billion, if approved.
