Bicyclist Killed in Rome Thursday

Dean Harmon, 49, of Maple Road in Rome was pronounced dead on
Thursday after he was struck by a Mac truck while he was on a
bicycle. Floyd County Deputy Coroner Gene Proctor said Harmon
died from severe head and chest trauma. He was struck near
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home around 6 am.
No charges have been filed against the driver of the truck, but
the investigation in ongoing.
Authorities said that it appeared that the bicycle did not have
any reflective devices.
