Rome Teacher Arrested for Sex with Student

James Rodney Lee, 27, a teacher at Rome High School was charged
Friday with aggravated sodomy, second degree cruelty to children, sexual assault
against a person in custody, and sexual battery. Reports said
that Lee had sex with a 16 year-old male student at the school on
March 20. After a weeklong investigation Lee turned himself in
on Friday.
Incident reports said that the victim told Rome Principal Tygar
Evans that he had been touched `in a private place` in the offenders
classroom during first period. The victim stated that Lee called
him into his classroom to `pick up some rechargeable batteries for
his MP3 player.
Reports added that Lee asked the teen `about his size` and then told
him to go stand in the corner of the classroom. He then asked him
if he wanted any money since his birthday is next week. The student
said he wanted $75. Lee told him that he `only had $20, but he had to
do something for him first.`
Lee then was accused of sticking his hand down the teen`s pants and
grabbing him. The teen said he was shocked and could not move. Reports
added that in his next class the teen broke down crying and told his
teacher what had happened.
