Atlanta Home Prices Continue Slide

According to the S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Index, Atlanta
home prices continued their downward slide in October.
According to the index, Atlanta home prices peaked in
July 2007 at 136.47. In October of 2008, the index was
down to 119.77. That is down a little over 12%.
Last October the index was at 133.86.
Atlanta`s housing boom continued much longer than did the
national boom. Nationally the index peaked at 206.52
in July of 2006. Since then it has fallen to 158.16,
a drop of 23.4%.
According to the indes, home prices in Atlanta, Denver, Detroit, Charlotte,
Cleveland, and Dallas did not rise as dramatically
as prices in many other parts of the country.
