Cherokee Teacher Faces New Sex Charges

Matthew Gantz, 41, a Cherokee High School teacher who was
arrested last week for sexual assault has had new charges brought
against him. A new victim has came forth and reported that she
had a sexual relationship with Gantz in 2005 when she was still a
student at the school.
Gantz faces three new counts of Sexual Assault of a Person in
Custody.
Gantz is being held in the Cherokee County Adult Detention
Center with a $60,000 bond.
Gantz was originally arrested Saturday after allegedly sexually
assaulting a former student. Detectives said he allegedly
assaulted the female student when she was 17. The student told authorities that the assaults began in 2007.
Authorities said Gantz is charged in that case with two counts
of sexual assault and one count of tampering with evidence.
More charges are possible.
